For the last 17 years, Allegiance Staffing has served as the matchmaker for individuals seeking work and companies looking to fill open positions across the country. Established in 2002, the staffing agency now operates in 14 states with 30 different branch locations.
Allegiance’s Louisville office, which sits off Locust Lane near Audubon Park, has been in existence for the past six years. Founded by Tom Landry in 2001 and owned by Shannon Davis, the branch continues to be locally owned and operated today. The four-person staff is headed by Davis, who acts as the General Manager, as well as Human Resources Manager Michelle Harper, Account Manager Amy Torres, and Staffing Specialist Michelle Newkirk.
Primarily, Allegiance works with manufacturing, logistics and office-based companies, staffing in the light industrial and administrative industries. The company engages in direct hire and contract to hire programs. Before doing so, it evaluates candidates through a three-phase screening process to assess reliability, character and skillset.
All candidates who apply for positions with Allegiance must pass through the E-Verify system, as well as pass a drug screen and background check. The company also has a variety of policies in place, such as insurance certificates, a safety partnership agreement, incident reporting protocol, and recommended accident investigation procedures.
“(Those requirements), tied in with the flexibility of being able to do things locally for what our customers want, give us the advantage over everyone else in the market,” said Landry.
Allegiance’s business processes are thorough. The company manages a client portal system, which acts as an electronic gateway to a collection of digital files and information accessible over the internet. The portal system allows Allegiance online collaboration with its client companies, as invoices, account balances, job order status and employee timecards are all accessible through its usage.
Additionally, Allegiance’s customers have the ability to run reports tracking direct labor cost and activity involving specific departments and head counts at their facilities. These reports can be exported into a Word document, PDF or a CSV file.
Together, these different features allow Allegiance to maintain a seamless relationship with its clients, in turn providing them with a higher degree of oversight and information about the employees they look to hire and jobs they look to complete. With the aid of these processes, Allegiance looks to continue to achieve its long-term goal of working with local employers on filling long-term, full-time positions, giving candidates and companies opportunities to grow.
Allegiance Staffing received the Best of Staffing Award by Inavero, a Portland, Oregon-based company founded in 2003, for providing “remarkable service quality” this year. Less than 2% of all staffing agencies in the U.S. and Canada earned the 2018 Best of Staffing Award for service excellence, according to Inavero’s website. Allegiance, meanwhile, has received the designation for the past nine consecutive years.
Inavero notes that “Best of Staffing winners truly stand out for exceeding expectations, and this award identifies the staffing industry’s elite leaders in service quality.”
